Charlotte based artist Jojo Colquitt has been creating and experimenting with art since childhood. He improved his skill through high school and college drawing and painting courses and eventually started hosting art meetup groups and workshops.

Jojo has worked in many media ranging from charcoal to digital art, but in recent years has chosen to focus on the vibrant colors and dynamic range of acrylic paints and of pastels.  In terms of subject matter, his primary interest is portraiture, both as a technical exercise and as a study of the nuances of human expression. Beyond portraiture, he enjoys the experimentation of abstract art and the creativity of fantasy.  More recently, he has expanded into digital art, both vector and image based.

Jojo's progression as an artist has resulted in a distinct style that combines the use of dramatic color with hints of Afrocentric themes.
